Master Ken MacKenzie - 7th Dan (C-7-33)
Master MacKenzie’s extensive background in ITF Taekwon-Do is impressive and reflects a deep commitment to both personal development and the broader Taekwon-Do community. His journey from starting training in 1983 to achieving a 7th dan black belt and owning MacKenzie Atlantic Taekwon-Do demonstrates not only longevity but also a high level of expertise and dedication.
His early training under GM Scott Downey and subsequent years under GM Pierre Laquerre highlight a continuity of learning and adherence to high standards within the ITF organization. Master MacKenzie’s participation in a range of international courses shows a proactive approach to staying current with evolving teaching methods and practices, ensuring that his students benefit from the latest knowledge and techniques in Taekwon-Do.

Mr. John Beer - 5th Dan (C-5-175)
Mr. Beer’s progression at MacKenzie Atlantic Taekwon-Do is inspiring. Starting his training in 2002 and earning his 1st dan black belt just three and a half years later demonstrates a strong dedication and aptitude for Taekwon-Do. Achieving the rank of 5th dan black belt is a significant accomplishment, reflecting years of commitment and skill development.
His involvement in helping teach the Youth and Adult programs highlights his versatility and ability to connect with a wide range of students. Additionally, his ongoing participation in courses to update his skills and his continued training underscore a dedication to both personal growth and providing high-quality instruction. Mr. Beer’s journey illustrates a commitment to the art of Taekwon-Do and to the development of our students.

In addition to his role as an instructor for the Youth & Adult and Little Dragons programs, Mr. LoPresti’s certification as an Umpire A and his role as Umpire Director for the Taekwon-Do Nova Scotia Association highlight his involvement in the broader Taekwon-Do community. His responsibility in these roles suggests a deep understanding of the rules and standards of competition and a commitment to ensuring fair and effective officiating.

Ms. Danielle Royer - 3rd Dan (C-3-795)
Ms. Royer’s progression at MacKenzie Atlantic Taekwon-Do is notable for both her advancement and her active contributions to the Taekwon-Do community. Starting her training in 2015 and achieving her 1st dan black belt by 2018 indicates a strong dedication and aptitude. Her current rank of 3rd dan black belt reflects continued growth and expertise in Taekwon-Do.

Additionally, her certification as an Umpire B and her involvement with the Women’s Committee for the Taekwon-Do Nova Scotia Association showcase her engagement with the broader Taekwon-Do community and her contributions to promoting fair competition and women’s participation in the sport.

Mrs. Betty Flynn - 2nd Dan (C-2-1552)
Mrs. Flynn’s long-standing commitment to Taekwon-Do and her extensive experience make her a significant asset to MacKenzie Atlantic Taekwon-Do. Starting her training in 1999 and achieving her 1st dan black belt in 2007 shows a dedicated and steady progression in her Taekwon-Do journey. Her current rank of 2nd dan black belt reflects her continued growth and expertise.
Her role in teaching the Little Dragons program since 2006 highlights her passion for working with children and her ability to impart Taekwon-Do principles to younger students. Her certification as an Umpire B further demonstrates her understanding and committment to fair play.
Additionally, Mrs. Flynn’s background as a retired nurse adds a unique dimension to her teaching, enhancing her ability to relate to and care for her students. Her enthusiasm for teaching children, combined with her extensive experience and background, makes her a cherished member of the MacKenzie Atlantic Taekwon-Do instructor team.
