MacKenzie Taekwon-Do
Student Fundraising Committee
This section of our website is
dedicated to the fundraising efforts of our students in support of the costs
they incur for travel and participation in tournaments abroad.
Many people join martial arts
to learn self-defense. However, Taekwon-Do is also a great form of physical
fitness as well as a competitive sport which usually becomes the goals and the
drive to continue their training. Therefore, such an event
the Atlantic, Eastern and Canadian National Taekwon-Do Championship is a
rewarding challenge for all of their extensive training. Also, the camaraderie
among the 800 (+) competitors is a very unique and rewarding experience.
In an effort to help cover some of
the costs for these trips, we are carrying out several fund raising events
including:

Lottery
Tree Ticket Sales
- We are asking for support from our members to help us sell tickets on our
"Lottery Tree" which will award the lucky winner with $200 in Lottery
Scratch Tickets in hopes of winning much much. The tickets are $2 each or 3
for $5. Check with the office and sign out books of tickets you can sell at
work, to family and friends. We need your support.
We are also, looking for help selling these tickets at Sobeys in Lower
Sackville on the following dates:
- Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 6pm - 9pm
- Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from 6pm - 9pm
- Wednesday, March 5, 2008 from 6pm - 9pm

Sobeys
Front End Bagging

On Thursday, February 28th, we will be at
Sobeys in Lower Sackville bagging groceries into the carts for customers "IN
UNIFORM" which is a lot of fun. We are looking for volunteers to help us out
and this can be a great TEAM building experience weather you are competing
or not. Customers usually tip us generously for our service and this is a
great fundraiser for us. So come on out, join the fun and help our TEAM. See

Belt
Rack Ticket Sales
- We are asking for support from our members to help us sell tickets on our
"Belt Rack" which is hanging in the Dojang. This is one of the nicest
belt racks available and is hand made and donated by our own Dave Innis. The
tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5.

Kick-A-Thon
- In an effort to raise funds to assist in sending our TEAM to the Eastern
Canadian Taekwon-Do Championship in Oakville, Ontario on March 8th, 2008, we
will be holding a Kick-a-Thon at the MacKenzie Taekwon-Do DoJang in Bedford
on March 2nd, 2008. During this time our challenge will be to complete 500
kicks each. Sponsor sheets are available in the office and everyone is
welcome and encouraged to participate.

Recycling Program

Drop off your recyclables at
the depot on Bluewater Road in Bedford and ask them to credit to the account
of MacKenzie Taekwon-Do. Or Bring in your recyclables to the Dojang. We
appreciate your support.
